VELES at UpToGATE Forum 2025

On November 27, 2025, VELES participated at UpToGATE Forum 2025: New Horizons in Bulgaria.

The event brought together leading Bulgarian and global experts in artificial intelligence and data.

UpToGATE included four panels:

• “AI-Empowered Innovation: Shaping Policy, Society, and Implementation” –brought together leading experts, researchers, and industry representatives to discuss how the new European AI Act is transforming the technological and business landscape in Europe and the path from regulations to real-world solutions. 
• “Human-Centric Research: GATE in Action” – featured GATE researchers demonstrating how their work translates into sustainable and ethical solutions for future cities, digital healthcare, and smart governance.  
• “Data Sharing as an Engine for Innovation” – explored Europe’s transformation into a data-driven society. Discussions covered how digital data-sharing spaces now function as operational frameworks with legal, organizational, and technical dimensions, and how trusted and sovereign data sharing accelerates innovation and cross-sector collaboration.
• “Business-Driven Innovation: From Data to Market Impact” – focused on how companies can turn data and applied research into tangible business results.
