On June 24-25, our consortium gathered for the fourth VELES Plenary Meeting, hosted by Chalmers Industriteknik in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The focus: coordinating and preparing the upcoming pilot activities in Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, and Cyprus — all aimed at building Regional Smart Health Data Spaces (RSHDS) aligned with the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
Key discussions included:
Legal and ethical requirements for pilot implementation (informed consent, access control)
Status of the Data and Ethics Management Plan (D1.3)
Progress across work packages and upcoming milestones
A highlight of the meeting was a powerful presentation by Michel Silvestri, member of the Swedish EHDS negotiation team at the Swedish eHealth Agency (eHälsomyndigheten). Michel shared valuable insights into Sweden’s preparation for EHDS — providing best practices and strategic guidance.
We concluded our time in Sweden with an inspiring visits to the Digital Health Arena – a hub for data-driven innovation in life sciences.
A heartfelt thank you to our hosts for their warm hospitality and energizing discussions!
