VELES Was Presented at WIDERA Excellence Hubs: MED and SEE Region 2024
On February 20, 2024, our project was successfully presented during the Workshop entitled ‘WIDERA Excellence Hubs: MED and SEE Region’, organized by the MetaCities Excellence Hub in South-Eastern Europe and NCP_WIDERA.NET, the network of national contact points for the WIDERA programme area of Horizon Europe.
Representatives from our consortium presented in several panels, namely:
- Lorra Georgieva (GATE) in the General Panel
- Irena Pavlova (GATE) in ‘Joint R&I Strategy’ Panel
- Ioana Spanache (UEFISCDI) in the ‘Investment & Action Plan, Specifications For Pilots’ Panel
- Maria Matsangidou (CYENS) in the ‘Accompanying Measures’ Panel.

The panels involving all Excellence Hubs discussed the following topics:
– Good practices such as joint R&I strategies, projects and pilots, action and investment plans, and accompanying measures.
– Valuable insights for applicants preparing proposals for the new Excellence Hubs call.
We were honored to have Joerg Niehoff, Deputy Head of Unit, ERA Governance and Implementation, European Commission, present at the workshop.
